Monnit’s Wireless and Power over Ethernet (PoE) Sensors detect motion via passive infrared (PIR) technology to augment facility security, protect inventory, or optimize building services through usage data. A Wide-Angle option is also available for facility managers wishing to audit the occupancy of desks, conference room tables, or hallways as part of building use evaluation.
Installed and monitoring within 15 minutes, these turnkey sensors issue an alert via text, email, or call if motion is made by people or animals at a range up to five meters (16’)—at any time or during a user-specified period. Know instantly if a sensitive area has been accessed (when it shouldn’t have been) or analyze traffic data to economize HVAC use and enhance sanitation.
These motion detection devices are available in compact CC, enterprise AA, industrial-grade, or PoE models. Monnit’s standard sensors feature a software-adjustable motion range (9’, 12’, or 16’) and a 80-degree viewing angle, making them ideal for general motion detection. Differing from its siblings, the Wide-Angle motion sensor features less range but a 110-degree viewing angle. No Monnit PIR Motion Detection Sensor uses cameras—the sensors only record heat signals.
